ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition)

Technology that turns speech signals into text. In production, the relevant metric goes beyond word error rate: noise, accent, domain vocabulary, diarization, punctuation, and time to transcript all change usefulness. ASR is the input layer of a voice experience, not the whole experience.
