Vector Database

A system that stores embeddings and performs neighborhood search between vectors, usually with metadata filters. It solves one part of retrieval; ingestion, chunking, index updates, and access control remain outside it. Choosing a vector store does not fix a poorly prepared corpus or replace relevance evaluation.
